Product Info

The RCR Range
The RCR lineup is built for cyclists who refuse to compromise. Every tube’s cross-section is engineered for optimal efficiency in key wind angles (-15° to +15°).

This "lightweight aero" bike strikes the perfect balance of weight, stiffness, and aerodynamics—delivering an exceptional ride. If you're looking for a race-winning machine, the RCR is it.

RCR vs. RCR Pro: What Sets Them Apart?

The Van Rysel RCR and RCR Pro share the same aggressive race geometry, but the difference comes down to carbon technology. The RCR uses high-modulus carbon for a stiff, efficient ride that delivers speed and responsiveness. The RCR Pro takes it further with super high-modulus carbon, reinforcing key stress points while shedding weight for an even more explosive feel. Designed for elite-level racing, the RCR Pro frame is the same one used by Decathlon AG2R’s WorldTour riders.

A Closer Look at the Frame
The RCR frame weight (size M, painted): 1.83 lbs (830 g)

RCR Pro frame weight (size M, painted): 1.74 lbs (790 g)
RCR fork weight (size M, painted): 0.84 lbs (380 g)
Tire clearance: Up to 33 mm
Color variations may cause slight weight differences (+/- 0.11 lbs | 50 g)

Never clamp a carbon frame (top tube, seat tube, down tube) in a work stand or bike rack—carbon is rigid but vulnerable to compression.

Several Finishes to Choose From

Depending on the groupset and wheel configuration, we offer different finishes so you can ride a model that reflects your style. The RCR and Pro frames feature a raw carbon finish with a matte varnish, leaving the carbon fibers exposed rather than covering them with paint. Every frame is unique, as each of the 450 individual pieces is hand-laminated in the mold, a process that saves up to 100 grams.

Cockpit
The RCR’s cockpit is designed for precise handling and easy maintenance, with an integrated headset that ensures smooth steering. The DEDA x Van Rysel Superbox EVO stem is both lightweight and stiff.

Stem lengths:

  • XS: 80 mm
  • S: 90 mm
  • M: 100 mm
  • L: 110 mm
  • XL: 120 mm

Paired with the DEDA Superzero RS carbon handlebar, it delivers aerodynamic efficiency and comfort. Deda measures width from the bar ends, meaning a 400 mm handlebar (measured between axles) is labeled as 420 mm.

Handlebar widths (measured between axles):

  • XS/S: 400 mm
  • M/L: 420 mm
  • XL: 440 mm

SRAM Rival Groupset & Quarq Power Meter

The RCR features the SRAM Rival eTap AXS groupset with a Quarq power meter for precise training. The electronic drivetrain runs on two separate batteries, with full customization and ride data available via the SRAM app.

Total drivetrain weight: 6.7 lbs (3045g)

Drivetrain Maintenance
Regular maintenance is key, especially in wet or dirty conditions.

Check chain wear often using a chain wear indicator.
A well-maintained drivetrain lasts longer and performs better.

Drivetrain Lifespan
When purchasing a bike, consider the long-term cost of drivetrain maintenance. Lifespan varies based on care and riding conditions, but here are general estimates:

Chain lifespan: ~3,100 miles (5,000 km)
Cassette lifespan: ~6,200–7,500 miles (10,000–12,000 km)

A neglected chain can skip, causing premature wear or even damage to your frame. Regular maintenance is key.

Disc Brakes
The SRAM Rival hydraulic disc brakes deliver powerful, progressive braking for optimal control. Featuring a 160mm front rotor and 140mm rear rotor, they outperform cable-actuated systems in all conditions.

Bedding-In Process:
To maximize braking efficiency, gradually brake 20 times at low speed (12 mph / 20 km/h), then repeat at 18 mph (30 km/h). Be sure to bed in both brakes to enhance friction between the pads and rotors.

Hydraulic Brake Maintenance
Hydraulic brakes operate within a closed system, with a hose maintaining the seal between the brake lever and caliper.

Over time, a slight loss of pressure is normal, which can reduce braking efficiency. If your brake lever feels too soft or pulls all the way to the handlebar, it's time to bleed the system. This process requires specialized tools and expertise.

Warning and Adjustment
Never squeeze the brakes without a wheel installed—this can cause the brake pads to stick together.

If the rotor rubs against the pads, follow these steps to realign the caliper:

  1. Loosen the brake caliper bolts.
  2. Squeeze the brake lever firmly.
  3. While holding the brake, tighten the caliper bolts.

If the issue persists, visit your nearest bike shop for further adjustment.

Tubeless or Inner Tube?
We recommend converting your tires to tubeless using the included tubeless valves.

Why go tubeless?

  • More comfort
  • Better efficiency
  • Self-sealing for small punctures

However, always carry an inner tube in your repair kit for larger punctures.

  • S: 331 mm
  • M: 356 mm
  • L/XL: 406 mm

The 140mm Decathlon Road Light saddle features a short-nose design for enhanced stability and pressure relief in the soft tissue area.

Weight: 8.8 oz (250g)

Pedals
Sold without pedals.

Which Size?
Refer to the bike frame geometry table for precise sizing.

  • Smaller size: More responsive and agile
  • Larger size: Better comfort for long distances

If you're between sizes, choose based on your riding style and fit preference. For best results, we recommend a professional bike fit.

Important / Safety
Zipp wheels use a hookless rim design, meaning there’s no hook to hold the tire in place—air pressure secures it to the rim.

WARNING:
Always follow Zipp’s maximum pressure limit. Never exceed 73 psi (5 bar), or you risk tire failure.

Lightweight Performance

Weight optimization is the second fundamental pillar of the RCR’s performance, and it has been at the core of its design.

Through topological analysis, we strategically removed material from targeted areas—not just on the frame, but across ancillary components as well.

This precision approach ensures every part is as light as possible, making the RCR a true racing machine.

Stiffness

The RCR was built for maximum energy return, delivering an incredible sense of propulsion with every pedal stroke.

To achieve this, we went to Japan to source the world's finest carbon fibers, ensuring the highest level of performance.

By carefully positioning these fibers in key areas, we enhanced stiffness, allowing the RCR to channel every ounce of your effort like no other bike before it.
